What the heck is resource page link building? Resource page link building is one of the most under-utilized, but powerful, link building strategies in SEO. Resource pages are created for the sole purpose of linking out to other websites. Here is an example of a resource page like I am talking about.
Resource Page linkbuilding simply consists of identifying resource pages on relevant websites, which could reference your website as a resource. The next task is reaching out to the webmaster of the websites you find and request that they add a link on their resource page, to your website.
The reason this method of building links isn’t used more often is because it can be extremely time consuming to identify resource pages in your niche, then hunt for the webmaster’s contact information, and finally to reach out and request a link to your site.
Enter ScrapeBox. Get ready to streamline the process and quickly create high quality lists of resource pages to request a link on.
Here are a few short steps to get started using ScrapeBox to find resource pages in your niche to build some relevant quality backlinks.
Step 1: Use one of my tested footprints, just enter one into ScrapeBox:
Step 2: Now enter in your niche target keywords:
And click on “Start Harvesting.”
Step 3: Sort your list by PR to target the highest quality sites
On the right hand side of your list of Harvested URLs there is a button that says “Get Page Rank” click it. Then once each URL has a value in the far right column titled “PR” click on “PR” to sort your list by Page Rank (PR).
Now export your list and begin reviewing the webpages in it. You are reviewing for two different link opportunities.
- If you find any broken links then this is a great opportunity to reach out to the webmaster and mention the broken link while offering your link as a replacement or additional resource.
- If you don’t find a broken link, then don’t worry, keep an eye out for cases where the resource page could include your website as a reference.
Typically you can convince the website owner that your link should be included as a resource under one of the above circumstances. Of course there is no shame in begging for a link if need be!
